"The first time I made this I'd lost the recipe but thought I could remember it. We had guests coming at short notice so needed a quickie dessert.
I forgot to drain the fruit and ended up with something resembling white punch with things floating in it. Almost drinkable - didn't look nice at all. So kind of strained it and retrieved the mess and served it up with a flourish as though I'd meant it to look like this. They ate it anyway.
As you can see this is the easiest quickest dessert you'll ever make and of course you can also see that the variations on this are plentiful. For instance you could add a can of cherries drained or a can of sliced peaches drained etc. etc.
If you are wary of all that sour cream you could use a low fat yoghurt which would reduce the calories a heck of a lot but it is yummier with the sour cream.
PS don't use ordinary cream.
