This was sent in by moy. Who says "This scrumptious Pud aquired its pseudonym the first time I made it, with some friends at Poly. It was baking whilst we waited for the pizza delivery man, for the first time ever, as pizza delivery was a new and exciting concept. It was also a very slow reality and whilst waiting, for nearly 3 hours, we ate our Pud first, whilst watching a truely horrible Horror entitled Blood Beach. The way the sauce bubbles was exactly how the beach bubbled, hence the name. So engrossed were we in the Horror and our Pud that we jumped out of our skins at about 1am when the doorbell rang and the pizza man arrived. We were almost too scared to open the door and had to do so 'en masse'. What a bunch of jessies."

Ingredients

  • For the Pudding:-
    • 1 cup S.R. Flour
    • 1/2 Cup White Sugar
    • 1 tspn Vanilla Essence
    • 6 tspn Cocoa Powder
    • 2 tblsp Melted Butter
    • 1/2 Cup Milk
    • Pinch of Salt
  • For the Sauce:-
    • 1 3/4 Cups Hot Water
    • 3/4 Cup Soft Brown Sugar
    • 1/4 Cup Cocoa Powder

Instructions - there aren't many!

  1. Set oven to 350F (Gas Mark 4.)
  2. Mix all the Pudding ingredients together. Place in an oven-proof bowl.
  3. From the Sauce ingredients combine the brown sugar and cocoa together and sprinkle them over the Pudding mixture.
  4. Pour the Hot Water over the Sugar and Cocoa.
  5. Bake for 1 hour.
  6. Remove.
  7. Eat with lashings of thick cream.
  8. Yum.
Really, really easy peasy, always works and is a real winter warmer. The story is true, honest!
